About
Jeff Cherry
I was born in Florida and lived there most of my life. I discovered an interest in drawing and painting at a very early age. In 2000, I moved to Atlanta. After working as a project manager for a major telephone company, I realized that this was not what I wanted to do. I always wanted to work in an environment where I could use my creativity to its fullest potential. I decided to go back to school to study animation. In 2006, I received my Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree from The Art Institute of Atlanta. Since then, I have been working in different design jobs.
My first job since receiving my degree was with a small casino gaming company in Duluth, GA. There, I was able to develop and improve my drawing skills, as well as my skills in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects and Maya. After leaving the gaming industry, I started working with Web design and development. With a little bit of Flash animation training and experience, I taught myself ActionScript and Web development. These skills gave me the opportunity to work for an advertising agency as their sole Flash developer. In one year, I greatly improved my knowledge of HTML, CSS, and ActionScript.
I am currently working as a Web designer. Over the past 2-3 years, not only have I sharpened my Web design skills, but I have also taught myself new techniques and languages. I have been able to incorporate ASP, PHP, Javascript and ActionScript 3.0 into my work. I find that every problem I solve or new technology I learn keeps me more motivated and interested in what I do. As the Web rapidly expands, I, too, keep expanding my skills.
